Since 2003 UTILITAS BUILT HERITAGE CONSERVATION RESEARCH AND DESIGN CENTRE has a test laboratory (UTILITAS Test Laboratory on Built Heritage) which has been accredited since 2007 to accomplish tests on brick/stone masonry, historic mortars used at different historic buildings, on new and old timber structures. The laboratory is certified by the State Inspectorate for Construction (No. 2383, since October 18, 2011).

The laboratory is also equipped to make unaccredited tests such as test on historical mortars, bricks, building materials. The laboratory equipment was chosen carefully to allow a large variability of several interventions and analysis. The activity field of the test laboratory, especially the researches (tests/analysis) which can be done in our unit are among the few with this profile in Romania.
