The publication, edited based on the analytical programme of the Postgraduate studies on historic building conservation, represents a review of the most commonly used technical terms in the field of historic load-bearing structures. All the authors had an equal contribution to every chapter. The fields of terminology are differently approached, the largest part being dedicated to roof structures, vertical load-bearing sub-units (walls and pilers) and historic foundations.
