In parallel with the famous annually International Conference Series TUSNAD, organised on the topic of built heritage rehabilitation, starting from 1997, a series on historic structures began to offer to specialists an opportunity to discuss major aspects regarding the resistance and the stability of historic buildings.
Studying and saving historic structures is one of the most important challenges of the contemporary rehabilitation practice. Still, improvement is needed in the professional approach, supported by a new and healthy theoretical frame, as well improvement in general acknowledging of values and information coded in historic structures. The volume from 2004 includes the lectures given during the 8th edition of the International Conference on Historic Structures, on the topic Heritage Values of Historic Structures.
