In parallel with the famous annually International Conference Series TUSNAD, organised on the topic of built heritage rehabilitation, starting from 1997, a series on historic structures began to offer the specialists an opportunity to discuss major aspects regarding the resistance and the stability of historic buildings.

Emergency interventions can not be avoided when for some reason, the resistance and the stability of a part from the built environment is questioned. Regardless the fact that the interventions are connected to natural or social catastrophes, the actions taken are of great importance, the specialists in historic load bearing structures having a decisive role in formulating and applying the emergency intervention principles. The volume from 2007 includes the materials of the 11^th edition of the International Conference on Historic Structures on the topic Emergency Interventions on Load-bearing Structures.
