The vernacular built heritage, with all its cultural components, is threatened with its gradual disappearance by the offensive and challenges of contemporary life, which sets its new patterns and gradually erases the embodiment that characterises this subject. The electronic volume also includes some abstracts translated in three languages and the lectures in their original languages, given at the 14th edition of the Conference Series on Theoretical and Practical Issues on Built Heritage Conservation – TUSNAD, on the topic The vernacular and the multicultural dialogue. It is intended the formulating of a cooperation document – on a national or international level – in which the attention to be drawn on the disappearance of folk/vernacular values and to initiate among professionals a collaboration for their protection.
